Don’t Let Theft Ruin Your Holidays

According to Eugene Police Department, an increase in criminal activity occurs during the holiday break, especially in the campus and surrounding areas.

Crime Prevention Specialist Steven Chambers said, “Criminals all know that the students are gone off the campus, it sets up the conditions just right for them to steal or take advantage of the students while they’re away.”

Locking up your house as well as your car is key to keeping your things safe. Getting a friend staying in the area to move your car can help keep it safe. Also, investing in a club to go on your steering wheel is a sure fire way to deter a thief. If you need to leave your car in Eugene during break, try to leave nothing visible at all, especially electronic devices. And always remember to lock it before you go.
