If you have any shoes you want to get rid of, there’s a better option than just throwing them away! “Step In The Right Direction” is a new UO program that promotes recycling with a purpose. Program Coordinator Cassidy Williams said, “What we’re doing is recycling athletic shoes of any brand and what we do is we give the shoes that can’t be worn again to Nike to keep, and they recycle them and grind them up into two sports surfaces.” There are bins located at the EMU, the Student Rec. Center, the second floor of Lillis and the Casa Nova Center.
