According to the tattoo artist Etzel at The Parlour Tattoo in Eugene, shows like Miami Ink that explain the reasoning behind getting tattoos have made it easier for individuals to be more accepting and understanding. As tattoos are popping up visibly more and more, it may seem as if they are becoming more acceptable, but this is not always the case. When getting a tattoo, college students should still keep in mind that many employers still do not view the body art as professional.

Acrobatics Leaps into the Limelight

The Oregon acrobatics team continues to gain national attention for their skill and growing importance in the NCAA. Once again, the National Acrobatics and Tumbling Association has ranked Oregon as the number one team in the nation. Bu the national championships aren’t the only place the girls are turning heads. Time Magazine recently featured the team to discuss the importance of Title IX for women’s sports. Title IX is an amendment to emphasize equal opportunities across the university, especially in the athletics department. Acrobatics in the NCAA is growing in popularity, proving to not just be a sideline activity.

Ducks After Dark

The University of Oregon has designed a new program to help increase late-night events on campus. Ducks After Dark’s double-header is one of the first activities, featuring free double-feature movie screenings in Columbia 150 Thursdays beginning at 9. Previous showings have ranged from Bridesmaids and Horrible Bosses to classics including Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. The program plans to have events Thursday, Friday and Saturday after 8.
