Since the most recent expansion of Autzen stadium in 2002, the football field has not underdone many improvements. However, in order to work on landscaping and accessibility inside Autzen, Phil Knight is donating a great 5 million dollars for renovation. One of the largest problems inside Autzen, these days, is getting in and out. The upgrade will improve access ramps and add stairways so attendees are in and out quicker, and safer. On a cosmetic level, Mr. Knight hopes to improve the exterior of Autzen by assigning workers to mend and expand the landscaping through decorative developments. The project is set to start today and will be finished in time for the first game on the season, on Oct. 1st, 2013.
