Eugene Airport
The Eugene Airport has seen a record number of passenger travel in the past year. Willamette Valley residents are choosing to stay local and fly from Eugene rather than out of Portland International Airport.According to the Eugene Airport, as of January 15th over 800,000 total revenue passengers travelled through the airport in 2012. This is a 3.74 % increase over 2011 travel numbers. One reason for the increase is the airport is now offering more flights and destinations. Deputy Airport Director Cathryn Stephens says Allegiant Air joined the Eugene market in 2007 and has added one new route every year since that time. Allegiant now offers flights from Eugene to Las Vegas, Phoenix, Oakland, Los Angeles, Palm Springs, and Honolulu.

Allegiant also draws passengers to fly with its prices, which can start at $50 one way.
