Ducks Win First Pac-12 Title in School History With Sweep of Beavers


The Ducks softball team defeated the Beavers 8-0 in a mercy rule game. The win clinched the Pac-12 title for the Ducks, which is the first in school history. Jess Moore dominated on her senior night, with nine strikeouts in a complete game win.

The Softballl team is now ranked as high as number two in the nation, which is the highest ranking in program history. The Ducks will head to a Tempe, Arizona to take on ASU for a three game series before starting the postseason.

Hawkins Powers Ducks to 11-0 Victory Over Beavers

On Saturday the Ducks defeated the rival Beavers 11-0 to win the second game of the series. Cheridan Hawkins led the way for the Ducks, striking out six of her first batters and striking out nine overall.

The Ducks bats were also alive as they hit two grand slams in the day to force the mercy rule and end the game in the fifth inning.

Oregon will play either Washington or Washington State in its first game Thursday. The Ducks had a season sweep of those teams for the first time since the 1989-1990 season.

Ducks Johnathan Loyd Key In Victory Over Stanford


Johnathan Loyd came up big against Stanford, with a season high in points (15) and a career high 9 assists assists.

This game was special for Loyd as he had been struggling mightily since being forced into the starting lineup because of Dominic Artis’ injury.

Loyd describes this type of game as something he needed. DuckTV Sports’ Andrew Murray reports.
