Jillian Alleyne Breaks Multiple Records as the Ducks Defeat ASU 98-90

The Oregon Women’s Basketball team defeated the Arizona State Sun Devils 98-90 at home on Friday night. Sophomore standout Jillian Alleyne had a monster night with 29 points and 16 rebounds and broke two school records as well. Caitlin Dieni has more on this story.

The lone bright spot on the 2012 women’s basketball team, the worst team in program history, was freshman center Jillian Alleyne. Injuries forced Alleyne into a leadership role and Alleyne shined, becoming the Pac-12 freshman of the year.

One year later Alleyne is leading a much improved women’s team. But even with all of her achievements, Alleyne still feels like the underdog, a role she’s carried her whole life.
