8th Ranked Oregon Kicks Off Regular Season With Win


The number eight Oregon Ducks volleyball team swept Eastern Washington in straight sets to kick off the 2013-2014 season in the Oregon Classic.

In their first game since losing in last season’s national championship,
All American Liz Brenner finished with 13 kills and teammate Martenne Bettendorf finished with a career high 18.

Oregon’s Liz Brenner Dominates as Multi-Sport Athlete

Oregon’s super athlete Liz Brenner is everywhere. As the university’s first female multi-sport athlete since 1973, Brenner made it to the championship game with the volleyball team earlier this year, played women’s basketball this season and also just qualified for the NCAA Track and Field Championships in the javelin.

Brenner was also nominated for Sports Illustrated’s athlete of the year award this past month and although she didn’t win the overall award, she did win the fan vote.

Oregon Volleyball Scrimmage One Step To Preparing For Next Season

Oregon’s volleyball team held a scrimmage last Friday against Oregon State as a series of spring scrimmages. Coming off their best season in school history, the Ducks swept the Beavers during the scrimmage, and hope to use these experiences to propel them into next season.
