Eugene, Ore.-
The University of Oregon’s science department has been affected by the recent educational budget cuts, known as the Sequester. Specifically the UO’s research departments within the science college will be facing some serious budget cuts. Typically, each school year the UO receives about 120 million dollars in sponsored research funds. The newfound budget cuts may pose a serious roadblock within the department. Unfortunately, these budget cuts may cause students to not be able to fill their science lab requirements, because the departments will not have enough funds to offer the class. For more information on the matter, please visit the Oregon Research webpage; updated information will be continuously posted on the website.
