Jacob Salzberg

Jacob_SalzbergQ: How did you get involved with Duck TV?

A: This is my 6th consecutive term with Duck TV. I got involved spring term of my freshman year when it was still called Duck U. My friend Mia acted in a show the term before and she knew that I liked to act so she encouraged me to audition.

Q: Describe your character:
A: My character is the straight man on the show meaning I’m not necessarily a funny character but my situations with others spur comedy. Although I play the “straight man”, there have been a few subtle hints leading to me not actually being…straight.

Q: Do you and your character share any similarities in real life?
A: I think that most of the character’s I play on Duck TV have pretty mellow demeanors and aren’t really outrageous in many ways. In real life, I’m pretty mellow most of the time until I know someone well enough to bring out my dry/confusing/sarcastic humor.

Q: What is your favorite part about Random Roommates?
A: My favorite part about Random Roommates is that I brought the whole project together. My friend Derek wanted to produce a show and my other friend Conor wanted to write a show so I hooked them up with each other and asked for a major role. I think that Duck TV is a great place to get a start in filmmaking. I started as an actor and once I saw how various productions went I decided to produce my own with the knowledge I gained by watching others. I have produced two shows with Conor Armor and the improvement is incredibly evident in our second show compared to our first.
