Eugene, Ore.
Locals in the Eugene community are beginning to worry over the announced budget cut for the Lane County Jail. Beginning in the 2013-2014 fiscal year that starts in July, Lane County will lose two million dollars for the County jail.
That substantial of a cut will become noticeable by way of losing almost half of the 120 beds that are currently at the jail. If the cut goes into effect by July, the Lane County jail will have no other choice but to give a number of inmate an early release.
Money can still be raised though before the new fiscal year begins in July.
