A chapter of the Slow Food program is coming to the University of Oregon. It is a national program that encourages healthy lifestyles and eating local. Proponents claim slow food offers healthy alternatives to fast food in a world focused on speed and productivity. Local markets and farms provide fresh, in-season produce, and slow food helps people cook healthy, homemade meals using produce from local farms… and, it’s affordable. The program will debut on campus in the upcoming year.
