New Buildings To See On Campus

The UO campus has seen three recent large scale construction projects, one of which is already finished. The Global Scholars Residence hall just opened this fall 2012 and is now home to over 450 residents as well as faculty. There are multiple new classrooms, a library, a fresh market-café, and a grand performance room. The Lewis Science Building, which anticipates to open on October 26th, has expanded space for environmental science classrooms. It includes a greenhouse skybride, solar panels, and daylight sensors. It will bring researchers and students together to educate, innovate, and learn. Allen Hall, the original home of the School of Journalism and Communication, has undergone a facelift with a three-story addition and new digital commons. Allen Hall will create 24-7 access with comfortable work space and will re-open winter term.
