Duck TV is the University of Oregon’s student-run television network. Each term we produce six 30 minute episodes made up of several segments: news, sports, and other comedic/dramatic/creative shows that air on public access channel 23 each Wednesday.
Every aspect of the production from the music to the costumes is run by students at the University of Oregon. Students in Duck TV will gain valuable portfolio work and receive hands-on training from other students in a cooperative environment, all while receiving academic credit.
Duck TV is made up of about 150 highly-motivated students that range from actors to reporters and producers to videographers that all work on different segments throughout each term. Each term a new staff is selected depending on the needs of the changing show producers.
Duck TV is a class which you must enroll in (J 406) after you are selected for a position. The class status is necessary in order for us to access the equipment and facilities needed to produce content. Rebecca Force of the School of Journalism and Communication is our faculty adviser.
Our executive producers are Vincent Hand, Jesse Nava, Kate Houston, and Amanda Penna.
